| BIOGRAPHY |
| About
1805/06 - Came to Franklinton, Ohio to assist his
brother-in-law, Lucas
Sullivant, as county clerk and county recorder, and to
join him in conducting a general store. Starling
settled on the east bank of the Scioto River. (13)
Lyne Starling (1784-1848), a local,
wealthy community leader, almost immediately offered the
school $30,000 to build a hospital and medical school
under one roof. For the first time in America,
medical education and patient care were integrated into
one facility, a concept which was years ahead of its
time. (46)
